Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-04-28
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the websites, applications, and services provided by GitDocAI ("GitDocAI", "we", "us", or "our"), including gitdoc.ai and the related dashboard and APIs (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
2. The Service
GitDocAI lets you import sources (such as code repositories, PDFs, and recordings) and uses AI models to draft documentation that you can edit and publish. We may add, change, or remove features over time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes that adversely affect paid plans.
3. Your content
You retain all rights to the content you submit to the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you, including running it through AI models to generate documentation.
You represent that you have all rights necessary to submit Your Content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights or violate any applicable law.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to violate any law or third-party right.
- Upload malware, illegal content, or content you do not have rights to.
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that do not belong to you.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure.
- Use the Service to build a competing product or to train competing AI models.
- Send spam, abusive, harassing, or deceptive content.
5. AI-generated output
The Service uses AI models that may produce output that is inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your context. You are responsible for reviewing and editing generated documentation before relying on or publishing it. We do not warrant that AI output will meet your requirements.
6. Plans, billing, and refunds
Paid plans, including subscriptions and lifetime deals, are billed in advance through our payment processor (Stripe). Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly offered (for example, a stated money-back window for lifetime deals). Taxes are your responsibility unless we are required by law to collect them.
Lifetime deals grant access to the plan tier you purchased for the lifetime of the Service. We may change pricing on new purchases at any time; existing lifetime purchases are not retroactively affected.
7. Free plan and trials
Free plans and trials are offered as-is, may include usage limits, and may be modified or discontinued at any time. We may suspend free accounts that show signs of abuse.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create legal or security risk for us, or fail to pay fees due. On termination, your right to use the Service ends and we may delete Your Content after a reasonable period.
9. Intellectual property
We retain all rights to the Service, including the website, dashboard, code, designs, trademarks, and logos. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of our intellectual property to you. You may not use our trademarks without prior written consent.
10. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third-party services such as GitHub, Stripe, and others you choose to connect. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services or their availability.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GitDocAI will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars (USD 100).
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless GitDocAI from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material we will provide reasonable notice through the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to GitDocAI's place of business, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes in good faith before initiating formal proceedings, and to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of that location, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws provide otherwise.
16. Contact
